Pillow Protection..

Sienna is quickly learning that Brogun is growing fast and getting stronger by the moment. She loves to help me with him, by changing diapers and getting him dressed. However, the other night I came in to see her with a pillow in the direct path of his feet and her trying to get control over a very active little set of baby legs. I asked her what the deal with the pillow was and she replied that Brogun kicks hard and if she gets to where he can not kick her then she can't reach him so she had the pillow there to stop him from kicking her in the stomach. Maybe I should take the advice and try it myself. He sure has managed to get mom pretty good more then once.

Memorial weekend

We had a great Memorial weekend with all the family here. Johnny and his wife Danielle and there three little girls all came in from Wyoming. And it has almost became tradition with the little girls to all get together and go swimming at least one day of their visit. Johnny and Danielle's baby Trynity was a blast to watch in the water. Needless to say, she absolutely loves the water. And it shows with her grin from ear to ear. And the older girls loved to get in and play with her. Maybe the next trip in we can get the little Brogun man to join in on the fun.

New Family Photo's

Since the entire Tom Knaphus clan managed to all get together this weekend, we thought we should take advantage of the moment and update some new family pics. And as you can see, it has really grown in the last few years.
My sister-in-law Amy Moore took the pics out to my great uncle Lyle Petersons old farm out on the Glenwood road. She did an amazing job. Thanks Amy!

Sweet Story Time

Sienna loves to read to her baby brother. And he just adores his big sister. I hope they will always stay close and keep this special bond.

Camping trip

I am so happy that it is that time of year again....camping time! We decided to make our first little trip of the season this last weekend. We didn't go far. Just up above Glenwood, at Sauls Meadow. That is the beauty of living in the country, that you don't have to go far to get out of town and go camping.
We all had a fun time. Derrick, Sienna, Brogun and I went with Derricks twin Devin and his wife Malory. It was so nice to just get away and relax. We made an attempt to get to Big Lake, but was surprised to almost make it there and hit a pretty large mound to snow. Hopefully in a couple of weeks we can make the trek and make it all the way.

The kiddo's both enjoyed the camp trip and can't wait for the reunions this summer with all of the cousins!

Before I was a Mom

Before I was a mom,
I made and ate hot meals.
I had unstained clothing.
I had quiet conversations on the phone.
Before I was a mom,
I slept as late as I wanted
And never worried about how late I got to bed.
I brushed my hair everyday.
Before I was a mom,
I cleaned my house each day.
I never tripped over toys or forgot words of lullabies.
Before I was a mom,
I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.
Before I was a mom,
I had never been puked on
Pooped on
Spit on
Chewed on
Peed on
Or pinched by tiny fingers.
Before I was a mom,
I had complete control of
my thoughts
my body
And my mind
Because I had slept all night long.
Before I was a mom,
I never held down a screaming child
so that doctors could do tests
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.
Before I was a mom,
I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put it down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces
when I could not stop the hurt.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.
Before I was a mom,
I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a Mother and her child.
I didn't know that someone so small
Could make me feel so important.
'
Before I was a mom,
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night to make sure
all was okay.
I had never known the warmth
the joy
the love
the heartache
the wonder
Or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much before I was a Mom.
