The annual Owens reunion at Panguitch Lake was over the 24th weekend. We all had a great time hanging out at camp, fishing, visiting, napping and always seemed to be eating. The first day was interesting watching Trevor, Derrick and dad try to figure out how to hang tarps for shade and the rainstorm that always manages to hit about the time we are having dinner. It has happened at least the last 6 years in a row anyways. And yes, it did this year as well.

They did get them up, but gotta say that it did give the camp site a definite red-neck appearance since Derrick happened to have a very large piece of plastic tubing that they put around cattle feed to keep it dry. Needless to say that it looked pretty rough, but definitely served its purpose.

We all went out on the boat a few times, but the fish in Panguitch have lots of feed and didn't seem to take much to what we were trying. There were a few caught. But mostly we kicked back and enjoyed the ride and watching the little ones catch a couple fish.

Sadly there were lots of family that didn't make it to the reunion this year. Mostly because of health reasons. And we really missed those that had passed away this last year. It really was not the same without them all.

Representing the Arizona crew this year was Mikey that made the trek to the reunion all by himself this year. We were so excited to have him there and all had a blast sitting around the camp fire and listening to him play his guitar and sing pretty much any tune you could throw out to him.

And of course it wouldn't be a Knaphus get together without some excitement. And Derrick and I got to be the lucky, or should I say not so lucky ones for that. On the way off the mountain our trailer blew a tire and took off part of the siding and made a dandy hole. Thank goodness no one was hurt. And being that it was Sunday when this happened, we had to leave the trailer off the side of the road till Monday when the stores opened. Derrick made another trip down and picked it up.

All in all it was a great time as always and we look forward to next years reunion!

Cabin Play...

Mr. Kicked Back..
Lazy in the shade...

Wild game of ping pong...

Double Trouble...

The mighty horse shoe game...

Derricks brother Devin and sister-in-law Malory, and Malory's parents Ken and Jodi invited the Moore family up to their cabin above Heber City this last weekend. So Derrick, Brogun, Sienna, Kevin, Cindy, Drake, Devin, Malory, Trevin and I went up Friday morning.
It was such a beautiful area and we all had so much fun! The boys being the competitive ones, really got into their ping pong and horse shoe games. Drake and Sienna had a blast together with their water fights and playing in the yard.
Unfortunately, as always the weekend comes to an end too fast. And it was time to head for home. Thanks Ken and Jodi for a great weekend!

4th of July..

The 4th was wonderfully busy as usual this year. Derrick, Brogun and I (Sienna was in Wayne County spending time with her family there) got up early and went to the parade in Richfield. My family has always met together at Nowers Chevron, but this year most of them were out of town. Mom and Dad went to Flaming Gorge for the week with some friends. Sounds like they may have had too much fun.. surprised we got dad to come back home!
Enjoyed the parade with Mike and Nikkie Hart and then raced home for a delicious BBQ with the Moore crew. Gotta say that Derrick can really cook a mean steak. YUMMY!
That evening we all went to Salina to El Mexicano for dinner for my sister in law Tiffany's Birthday! We considered the rodeo, but the look of the clouds rolling in made us decide otherwise...
We ended our evening enjoying the fireworks with Marsha, Nikkie, Mike, Roger, Gina and there cute little bunch. Sienna even made it back in time.
Needless to say we were all exhausted by the end of the night. It was a bit of a bitter sweet for me.. Memories of the 4th with the family at Grandpa and Grandma Knaphus's house will always be a treasure I will miss. But am excited to start new traditions and memories with my sweet little family.

Moore Fishing...

The Moore family went on a camp out to Fish Lake this last weekend. Well most of the family...Tiff and Ty went to California with Tiff's family and Marcie was north. We missed having them there, but know they all had a great time as well.
Friday was a little rainy for most of the day, but we did get to go out on the boat that evening.
Saturday was beautiful and we all went out for a few hours. The babies even really did well, but Brogun has a strong dislike for the life jacket.
We got up Sunday morning (my birthday) had a great biscuit and sausage gravy breakfast and headed for home. Always a bummer how fast time goes by when your having fun. We plan on a few more fun trips before the summer is over.

Elsinore Heritage Days..

We had a great time at Heritage days here in Elsinore again this year. Sienna and all the Moore cousins got to ride on the firetrucks in the parade. That is always a favorite for them. Then it was up to the park to play games and help Cindy sell Navajo taco's, hot dogs, hamburgers, scones, and drinks. The weather was a little unpredictable all day and we had sun one minute and down pour the next.

Derricks mission companion and good friend Gregg Golden and his wife Amber came down for the day and we took off a little early from the games at the park to go fishing up Clear Creek. We stopped and grabbed Corey to go with and our kiddo's. Sienna loves to fish!

We made it back in time for the town BBQ, but it had to be held at the cultural hall instead of the park because of the ran. It was delicious!

Then we ended the event at the park that night with a great show of fireworks that the fire department puts on.

All and all we had a great time and look forward to it again next year.
