Young womens camp

I have been so blessed to be called as the 2nd councilor in the Young Woman's. I have to admit that at first I was scared out of my mind. After the first week of being with these amazing girls, I am hoping that I never have another calling.
Girls camp this year was above Nephi. So it was a little bit of a drive, but well worth it. I was not able to go last year, because Brogun was too small. And this year I didn't spend the night, but made a few trips up to hang out and spend time with them.
Sienna's Birthday is in May, so she barely made the cut off for camp. I was so happy that she was able to go. The young women made a skit, a cheer, and did many spiritual and fun activities. It was a blast. I love each and everyone one of them so very much and can not wait for the ward Young women's camp this coming June!

What a pair....

Camping with Corey, Emily and Talia Loftus is always a blast. We went up above Glenwood at Bull Meadow. Corey had a cow elk tag and invited Derrick to come along and hunt with him. Corey was not quite at full movement with his leg and was not able to bend it enough to shift the 4-wheeler. So he and Derrick rigged up a pole to the shifter so he could do it by hand. But it gets better...his leg was in the way so they used a bungee cord to strap his leg to the side of the wheeler. I can only imagine what people thought as they passed these two and the mountain road.
They did not get a chance to shoot anything, but had a blast together! Emily, the kids and I all hung out at the camp and relaxed, played cards and took a nice long nap. We love the Loftus's so very much and always have a wonderful time with them.

Happy 60th Birthday Mommy

August 15Th mom celebrated her 60Th birthday. We had a big BBQ at mom and dads with lots of family and friends. As you can see by the pics, mom got a little teary eyed by some of her gifts. Dad bought her a grandmothers necklace with each grandchild's birthstone in a little ring.
She LOVED it!
I made mom a book with many pictures that dad and I have been sneaking out of the house for the last several months. It starts with mom as a girl, then school pictures, growing up, meeting dad, each one of us kids births, and grandchildren and special moments all along the way. It was so much fun to make and definitely a trip down memory lane for me.
We are so blessed to have such a great and loving mom and pray that she will be here for many many more years. I LOVE YOU MOM!!

"Due West"

One of our very own Richfield boys has really went on to make it "BIG" . Tim Gates a guy that Misty and I grew up with along with his sisters. Has moved to Nashville and formed a group called "Due West". And I must say, are amazing! We have not seen Tim in many years and were all super excited when we heard that he was coming to Richfield for the fair.
Derrick and I went with Nikkie, Marsha and Gina to the concert and had a great time. Tim has always had an incredible voice and are all so thrilled to see how far he has gone already. I know that he is going to have a HUGE career. Congrats Tim and Due West...we have always been your biggest fans!

Moore Reunion 2010..

So, as you can see I am extremely behind on the family blog. Here it is already Jan2, 2011 and I have not posted my summer. One of my New Years resolutions is to be much better about staying on top of the blog. So I'll try and back up and remember all that we did. Thank goodness for pictures to jog the memory!
The Moore family reunion was in September at Fish Lake and as usual it rained, then rained, and rained some more. Regardless, we all had a wonderful time. Kevin and Cindy really go to a lot of work with games and activities to keep us all busy and having fun. The babies are all running around and enjoying being outside.
We had some pretty intense games of badminton (have no clue if this is the right spelling). We played couples against couples. We had some pretty unique names! Volleyball was the most intense of all the games and even spilled over to the the Ward camp out a couple of weeks later. Where I can proudly say (possibly against Tylers judgement) that the Derrick, Monique, Devin and Malory team WON! WOOT WOOT!
We all had a fantastic time time and are all looking forward to next year!
