Brogun's milestones

Brogun has had a couple different milestones this past week. One wonderful and the second not so great..
First one is that we hit the immunization mark and he had to get his first series of shots. I am not sure who this is harder on, the baby who has to have these dang sharp needles put into there little legs that soon become stiff and sore. Or for mom, who is supposed to be the protector and can do nothing but hold the poor little things down. I think I bout cried as much as Brogun. I am happy to say that he did do well after. Ran a slight fever (thank goodness for baby motrin), but otherwise didn't seem to have much of an affect on him. He also weighed in at 13 lbs and is 25 inches long. Putting him in the 56th percentile for weight and 92nd percentile for length. Dr. Jackson said he is on the road to being a big boy. And his motor skills are at a 4 month level. (yes I am bragging)
Now for the wonderful milestone...Brogun has been sleeping thru the night for the last week. YEAH!!!! Goes to sleep about 10:30ish and wakes up around 7:30. I am still not sleeping all thru the night being the nervous mom that wakes to check him at least 5 times a night. I am so happy that I have such an easy and happy little man. I just keep wondering if this is the "calm before the storm". Terrible two's might have me eating my words. But for now I am bragging and enjoying every minute of him. It goes way too fast.
The realization of that is hitting me now that Sienna is at the end of her 5th grade school year and about to turn 11 and enter into middle school. YICKS!! Where has the time gone? Derrick and I must be crazy having a newborn and a pre-teen. We will enjoy the quiet time for now, before the boyfriends and hormones really start knocking on the door. The girl is already our drama queen can't imagine what the next several years have to offer. Possibly duck tape and bolted doors! Just kidding.. or am I?

  1. Monique- cute blog! I have only been around the past couple of years, but what a difference they have made in watching your daughter grow! So, it will be fun to keep tabs on the baby now too. BTW, I love the Moose shirt! It just looks UTAH-ish! haha
