The annual Owens reunion at Panguitch Lake was over the 24th weekend. We all had a great time hanging out at camp, fishing, visiting, napping and always seemed to be eating. The first day was interesting watching Trevor, Derrick and dad try to figure out how to hang tarps for shade and the rainstorm that always manages to hit about the time we are having dinner. It has happened at least the last 6 years in a row anyways. And yes, it did this year as well.

They did get them up, but gotta say that it did give the camp site a definite red-neck appearance since Derrick happened to have a very large piece of plastic tubing that they put around cattle feed to keep it dry. Needless to say that it looked pretty rough, but definitely served its purpose.

We all went out on the boat a few times, but the fish in Panguitch have lots of feed and didn't seem to take much to what we were trying. There were a few caught. But mostly we kicked back and enjoyed the ride and watching the little ones catch a couple fish.

Sadly there were lots of family that didn't make it to the reunion this year. Mostly because of health reasons. And we really missed those that had passed away this last year. It really was not the same without them all.

Representing the Arizona crew this year was Mikey that made the trek to the reunion all by himself this year. We were so excited to have him there and all had a blast sitting around the camp fire and listening to him play his guitar and sing pretty much any tune you could throw out to him.

And of course it wouldn't be a Knaphus get together without some excitement. And Derrick and I got to be the lucky, or should I say not so lucky ones for that. On the way off the mountain our trailer blew a tire and took off part of the siding and made a dandy hole. Thank goodness no one was hurt. And being that it was Sunday when this happened, we had to leave the trailer off the side of the road till Monday when the stores opened. Derrick made another trip down and picked it up.

All in all it was a great time as always and we look forward to next years reunion!
